In this weekend's Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (SoNA) concert, momentum takes center stage with a diverse array of shorter works from John Adams, Kodaly, Rachmaninov, and Ravel, as well as a world premiere. The Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (SoNA) presents a series of Christmas concerts Dec. 3 and 4 to open their 2016-2017 season at the newly renovated Walton Arts Center. Music Director Paul Haas describes these concerts as a place where we can all come together and celebrate humanity.
"For me it's one of my favorite concerts of the year," he tells Katy Henriksen. "There's a feeling of community."
Dec. 2 the newly renovated Walton Arts Center will continue its 25th season with a performance by the world's largest-selling jazz instrumentalist. Chris Botti began playing trumpet in the 3rd grade and Friday’s concert will be his first performance in Arkansas. The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets start at $45.
