"It's the big monster," says pianist Benedetto Lupo when describing Rachmaninov's explosive third piano concerto. Lupo, an Italian pianist and Van Cliburn International Piano Competition medalist, is in town to perform the beast as part of the opening concert "Russian Masterworks," also featuring Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" for the Artosphere Festival Orchestra of 2016.
