Erasing the Stage: Artosphere's Pop-Up Concerts

Pop-up concerts by Artosphere Festival Orchestra(AFO) musicians have become an integral part of their time in Northwest Arkansas.

"It's great to bring these smaller versions of our stage to people who maybe haven't experienced that," explains cellist Paul Miahky. Tonight they overtake downtown Bentonville for the "AFO Food & Music Night" beginning at 6:30 p.m. on the Bentonville Square.

Last year's Fayetteville pop-ups culminated at Smoke & Barrel with dozens of musicians on stage to perform from Beethoven's Fifth with Maestro Corrado Rovaris conducting. In my interview with Miahky and Carl Larson, they recount that experience and why its important to take symphonic music outside the concert hall. Listen to the full segment here.

Their yet-to-be announced Fayetteville pop-ups will happen next week. Stay tuned to KUAF to find out more.
