Composer Micheal Shelle Finds Inspiration In Mendelssohn and Dachau

Composer MichaelShelle's Resilience was inspired by both a Mendelssohn string quartet and a piece of writing he discovered on a visit to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. The work receives its world premiere performance when the Fort Smith Symphony opens its 2015-2016 season with the help of guest soloists Alaina Rea, viola, and Joshua Devries, cello. Shelle, Rea, Devries and the symphony's Music Director John Jeter all join Katy Henriksen in-studio for a performance  and a discussion on the riveting concert opener.
