KUAF host of "The Pickin' Post"

Mike Shirkey has been host and producer of "The Pickin' Post" since 1980.  He's had many musical influences from his childhood in the Arkansas delta to his one year tour of duty in Vietnam with the US Army.  
Mike received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Arkansas.  In years to follow, Mike started the successful "GoodFolk Productions", bringing national and international musicians to Northwest Arkansas.
In 2011 he received the Folk life award from the Arkansas Arts Council.

John McCutcheon has six Grammy nominations, 34 albums and the love of fans and critics.  Friday he'll perform at the Fayetteville Public Library and Mike Shirkey, host of KUAF's Pickin' Post,caught up with John recently.
