The Symphony of Northwest Arkansas embarks on its first ever opera presentation with a staging of Act I of Puccini's iconic La Bohème on Saturday, May 5th at the Walton Arts Center.
Executive Director Matthew Herren spoke about the enduring appeal of the story of starving artists- the "bohemians" of the title.
"I wonder if it's something about the simplicity of that level of struggle, they're really living minute to minute and maybe it reminds us to be grateful for what we have," Herren says. "Of course it's a love story too, and love stories are timeless."
