Genre-bending composer David Chesky’s “Klezmer Concerto” embraces the Eastern European Jewish style for which it is named while incorporating other elements as well. “As a jazz musician, I have always had this fascination with klezmer, flamenco, and Russian and Eastern European gypsy music. To me, they all emanate from the same place, and essentially, all of them are blues,” says Chesky. Join us on Wednesday’s program to discover how these ideas translate into a classical concerto.
