Of Note for Tues., Aug. 23, 2016: Fort Smith Symphony Celebrates 20 Years under John Jeter

Believe it or not, there was a time when John Jeter, music director of the Fort Smith Symphony, didn't even know what a symphony was. What drew him in was simply beautiful music. As he explains to me, he fell in love with the form when visiting a friend whose mom always had recordings of Beethoven, Mozart and Wagner on the record player. Now celebrating 20 years with Fort Smith I look back with Jeter to find out why he chose the path of conducting and learn more about the 2016-17 season, which kicks off September 11 with a guest appearance from violinist Joshua Bell.
