Of Note for Sun. Aug. 21, 2016: Arnold Bax Paves His Own Path Instead of Attempting to Follow Elgar

Rather than attempt to follow the giant that was Edward Elgar, British composer Arnold Bax blazed his very own path that had an audience in shock at the 1929 debut of his 2nd symphony. Hear it in its entirety along with an overture from Elgar and the transfixing "Pelleas and Melisande" symphonic poem from Schoenberg for two hours brimming with full symphonic works to continue the #SundaySymphony tradition from 8 to 10 p.m. Stream it in its entirety right here on demand.
