KUAF Arts Beat: Inside Audrey Horne's 'Twin Peaks'

As far as original TV shows go, Twin Peaks remains unmatched. The surreal, dreamy noir resonated with audiences so much that 25 years after its two season run on ABC the series returned earlier this year with 18, hour-long episodes on Showtime.

The end of the series left one of the main characters, Audrey Horne, on a heartbreaking cliffhanger. Spoiler alert: While we don't get much on what happened to Audrey between the original series and now, she is alive. Actress Sherilyn Fenn speaks with Katy Henriksen about her character and how she went from auditioning for a minor role to becoming a fan-favorite, working with David Lynch and what it means to return to the world of Twin Peaks after two decades.

"It was a pure delight," Fenn says. "I think everybody was sad the way it ended and had some regrets... I think David is more in his essence than he's ever been."

Fenn says the way the series impacts fans has been the most rewarding.

"Sometimes people come up and cry and then I cry, and we're both crying and we don't even know why we're crying. My job is to see humanity. My gift is that I got to be a part of something that touched people."
