The University of Arkansas Campus Hunger Initiative will co-host the National Food Waste and Hunger Summit this weekend. It is the third year for the summit, co-hosted by the national group The Campus Kitchens Project, but the first to be held in Fayetteville. The U of A has more than 100 student leaders who volunteer either with the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry or the Food Recovery Project.
Since 2013, the Snack Shack has partnered with many local groups to help fight hunger in the Ozarks. Pete speaks with CEO Bret Raymond about the groups efforts as well as the upcoming 'Feed the Funnel' month in September.
Charolotte Tidwell, a native of Fort Smith, is devoting her golden years to making sure low-income elders have plenty to eat. She’s getting tons of help from the River Valley Regional Food Bank.
