Having Problems Streaming KUAF? Here Are Some Tips

We've recently heard from some listeners who are having problems accessing our internet audio streams. This is because of a change to the way we send our streams to the broader internet.

Earlier this year, Apple announced it would only allow apps in its App Store to connect to secured streams. Here's an articlethat was written by TechCrunch during Apple's 2016 Worldwide Developer Conference offering an explanation if you want to know more.

We have already made the requisite changes to our systems to be compliant with Apple's new requirements, but unfortunately for you, our listeners, this means that some of your favorite apps or means of streaming our signals may require some adjustment.

If you're using a radio application, such as TuneIn, the NPR News app or the KUAF app, you may need to uninstall it completely from your device and reinstall. This will clear the saved data containing the old addresses for our streams and fetch the updated stream URL.

If you're using a desktop application or other device that uses the stream URL to connect, here are the stream URLs for each of our signals:

  • 91.3 FM News/Talk - https://war.streamguys1.com:7031/kuaf1
  • KUAF 2 Classical - https://war.streamguys1.com:7031/kuaf2
  • KUAF 3 Jazz - https://war.streamguys1.com:7031/kuaf3

As always, you can also stream any of our signals directly from the drop down menu on our homepage in addition to picking up our over the air signals.
