The Community Music School and The University of Arkansas Department of Music welcome you to the second annual String Day. This fun and exciting experience is open to string players in high school (grades 10-12) and junior high (grades 8-9). On Saturday, October 14 at the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall on the U of A campus, join the University of Arkansas string faculty for a day of masterclasses, ensemble work and All-Region preparation. This promises to be an event you won’t want to miss, especially for students auditioning for All-Region ensembles. Instructors will provide valuable insight into the audition process and key performance tips to help you succeed in your auditions. String Day is divided into a morning high school program and an afternoon junior high program in order to facilitate a more focused instruction on All-Region music. The day will culminate in a concert of select All-region pieces for parents and family at the close of each program. Participants will also have the opportunity to enjoy performances from U of A string students and faculty. The $15 fee will provide students with professional instruction, materials, and refreshments. To register and view a detailed schedule for the day please visit cms.uark.edu.
