Deeply influenced by Japanese objects, Garfinkel’s work reflects “kando” which stresses the simplicity, elimination of clutter, and a sense of essentialness. Her vision embodies the quality of elegance without showiness or flashiness, and exemplifies a sophistication that is introverted and calm. Optimizing visual play and retinal delight, this extraordinary artist explores dualities between the natural and artificial. This exhibit will showcase approximately 50 works of various mediums, including etchings on paper, painted aluminum, and oil on canvas works. General admission is always free. Opening reception will be April 20, 5-7PM, free for RAM members, $5 for non-members.
